I built a Social Responsibility into my business plan and would like to share it with you.

I’m looking forward to building great relationships in the Kootenays.
I was working on my books today and realized how easy my books are. I got Marnée Bellavance at Printed Matter Services to help me set up my books and they are so easy to do! The way she got me to lay everything out makes so much sense. I see my incoming, outgoing, what I spent it on and when. I need to stay on top of it of course but it’s a system that really works for me. It takes away so much stress when you know what your money is doing and have a good filing system for all your paperwork.
If you are in the Cranbrook area and need some help, guidance, or book keeping set up you should definitely look into Printed Matter Services!
I find this whole endeavour really interesting. I’ve decided to go with a business that doesn’t have a lot of overhead. I don’t have a store front or office hours which means no rent or fixed schedule. It’s wonderful! However, it also means no one can drop in to see me. No one sees my name and thinks “whats this? Maybe I should check it out.” Instead I have to keep getting myself out there online and in the community so people start realising I’m here. This is difficult when you have no clients. It can also be discouraging and is definitely draining but it’s also exciting. There are so many opportunities available. It’s just finding them or making them happen.
I’ve decided to write a to-do list as well as 101 in 1001 list. Things to work on and to work towards – goals. Without those I’ll probably end up going nowhere. If you haven’t heard of 101 in 1001 it’s a list of 101 things you’d like to complete in 1001 days. Dream big and more than 101 things will happen in those days.
Feeling a little discouraged today but I know it’s just part of getting to success.
One thing I love to do is help women see how beautiful they are; and who are more beautiful than our mothers?
With Mother’s Day coming up I approached Studio 134 to see if they’d be interested in partnering with me to provide a relaxing and fun photo shoot. The ladies at Studio 134 will be styling clients’ hair and I will be taking the photos afterwards. It will be a two hour session but should be so much fun and will be a great gift!
There are a couple different options that will hopefully suit people’s preferences. I might even be able to add a makeup option soon (fingers crossed).
I’m so excited to launch this promotion. It really does make this business feel real.
When I got home today there was a little brown box shoved in my mailbox. I couldn’t guess what it was and of course I didn’t bother reading the label. It was stuck. I couldn’t get it out! When I finally did I instantly knew what it was by the way it fell into my hands – my business cards! 10 days early.
I’m so very excited. I can’t wait to start handing them out to people!
I can’t believe I own my own business. I’m an entrepreneur! If you had asked me back in high school if I could ever see myself owning my own business I would have probably said no. If you asked me if I was going to be a photographer I would have said “That would be nice but…” It was unrealistic. I have never seen it paying the bills or becoming a lifestyle. But, now I do. Now I hope so badly that this will work.
Taking photos of people makes me happy. I love looking through my photos after a shoot and seeing them smile or that instant they hit it with their eyes. That smoulder. I love letting people feel comfortable, relaxed and be themselves and then give them the photos and let them see how beautiful and handsome they are.
I’m going to say it now, so hold me to it if I start complaining! If this business doesn’t fully pay the bills and I need a second job, I am still going to be happy to take photos on a part time basis and show people how wonderful they really are.
Well, I’m not much into blogs – I’m not a reader or a writer – and I don’t think my life is very exciting to follow but I hope my business will be. I’m really looking forward to launching my business and sharing my experiences, fears, and joys with you. Please be patient with me and the lack of excitement for the first little while.
